GIFT FROM GOD

A new song wells within my heart,
As small and precious life within me grows.
Fear is melting, doubt no more,
This promise more felt than heard.

Has time changed the quality of me,
To a Woman, a child no more?
Daughter, now Mother, Love, now Wife,
My name is as changing as wind on the grass.

Now building creation, inside a womb I denied,
A miracle, a wonder, my mind a mute hostage,
To question, not ever, to fear, do not speak,
For watching and waiting for fruition to bear.

Have you given me my namesake,
An inheritance for my lasting joy?
Have you given me the place to dwell,
within your arms of healing love?

My song it rises quickly, slowly, strongly,
To praise your gift to me and mine,
May it never die upon my lips,
Except for speechless awe.

MOMENT OF DECISION

The moment of decision... is past.

Right now,
stopping and watching the passing of my history,
the rise and fall... of me,
I recognize the powerful undertows,
dragging, ripping, pulling,
all in the direction that I cannot but go.

It is too late to turn back.

And if, in the futility of my own mind,
I were to make that decision,
That I would indeed, Turn, And Go,
another way,
I would be unable.

My passage blocked by doors that locked,
ages before my making.

And hence,
I understand the wisdom,
that to have peace,
One must be content,
with what one has and has not.

THE COMPLETION OF THE PROMISE

Moments of joy and smiling sweet love
Harbored and waiting and pining til now
With years passing in and out of our sight
Watching the passage of time, o' so slow

Coming and leaving, coming and leaving
The pain of goodbye is lingering too long
The threshold for suffering seemingly nearing
The screams very nearly hiding his song

Echoing voice, truth and love held aloft
The vision renewed with each question raised
Promises made, before impossible thought
And moments spent waiting, the passing of days

Requesting no apology or excuse for the fear
He said hold strong my love for my promise is law
Without anger or impatience, humility unredeemed
Bringing fruition with mind reeling awe

Now here in your hands the desire and dream
The hope looked towards within sight unforeseen
Glancing at him, and he glances at you
The fire not yet dead, not yet kindled is seen

ENTER YOUR DEATH

Hours passing by with swiftness
Marching by in strides
I hear the mounting treachery
I feel the growing lies

Your presence unfelt for ages
Denied by some and scorned
Is now heartily transgressing
We heard the cry, forwarned

Angry and too swift with sin
You have come beyond my borders
Do you see my armies yet
Do you fear their holy orders

Your chance to flee has long since passed
Your hope of freedom gone
To trespass, to steal, to slay the beloved
Death will be yours by dawn

OH TO BE MINE

Oh to be witty
And pretty and sunny and fair.
Smiling so gently
With wind tousling my hair

Mere sight of me, your hearing me
My so brilliant words
You'd admire me, you'd love me
Helplessly toward

And with gleam in my eye
And smile on my lips
You'd come to me, run to me
Swoon in my grip

Oh to be mine
Your joy beyond knowing
Sing to me dearest
Love ever flowing
